Peter Aston - Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience working in the NHS and in private practice on Harley Street. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals, from clients within healthcare  to clients in high-powered positions requiring the utmost discretion.

Who I Work With

I offer a compassionate, confidential space for adults of all ages. While I work with a broad spectrum of clients, I am particularly experienced in supporting:

  • Professionals Under Pressure: I work frequently with lawyers, executives, and leaders for whom success is accompanied by stress, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. Therapy offers a confidential environment to slow down, make sense of these pressures, and navigate issues of burnout and work-related trauma.

  • Complex Needs: I am highly skilled in dealing with complex psychological issues and often see people who, for one reason or another, have found previous therapy unsuccessful. I specialise in Personality Disorders and have a specific interest in Autism.

Areas of Expertise

In addition to complex presentations, I have extensive experience treating:

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • Bereavement, Grief, and Loss

  • Relationship difficulties (working with individuals, couples, and groups)

  • Physical and Sexual Abuse

  • Self-harm and Suicidality

How We Work Together

I work entirely online. Initially, we will focus on the difficulties that brought you to therapy. We will explore the background of these issues to formulate a clear understanding of your needs and decide how to proceed—whether that requires short-term focused intervention or open-ended, long-term therapy.

Contact & Consultation

If you would like to explore working together, please contact me to arrange a short, introductory conversation via  07514 931831 or info@awaykn.org. This allows us to determine if I am the right therapist for you before we schedule our first full session.
